Buildings should be weathered, too.

Since I had not built a building in a couple of decades, I decided to practice by building one of the cheapies I picked up in the Model Expo sale for less than a buck. I painted it using Rustoleum Tapestry colors and Grimy Black for the roof and weathered it using A.I.M. powders.

More photos Sunday.



 8) 8) 8) BTW, it was just placed on the diorama to photograph, so it is several scale feet in the air!

Nice overall look. :) I like the colors and the signs look good too.
That's a B-man  Plasticville building, and I remember they gave those away free at the NMRA National Train Show. Too bad they are almost HO size. :-X

Looking good, even down to peeling paint, I hadn`t thought of that one, I
enjoy Weathering Buildings as much as Weathering Engines, Locomotives and
Rolling stock.

Regarding the size, I thought they were off scale until I took a scale ruler to them. The problem is it is a two story false front building with a peaked roof. The doors and windows are fairly accurate in size, and the side and rear first floor windows look much better with additional muntins. Flash Blackman showed a photo of one next to an interlocking tower on Trainboard, and the first and second floors line up perfectly. It is a big building for N scale and won't fit where I originally intended it to go.

you have to weather your buildings! if you weather the locos and rolling stock on your layout, it only makes sense to weather it all. nice job!

Too big you say, HMmmm, Oh what a shame, now you`ll have to change Gauge
to HO or maybe even Sn, ;-}

I still reckon it looks the Bee`s Knee`s.
