So is there anyone out there that is making n scale flat car loads of modern electric transformers that are as detailed as the ones from Class One Model works in HO like these?

https://classonemodelworks.com/collections/loads/products/old-transformer-industrial-gray

https://classonemodelworks.com/collections/loads/products/large-transformer-industrial-gray

And no I don't want to sit down and model one out of Styrene so thanks but no thanks.

The ones I have seen are just poorly done and wondering why I can't locate one as good as the class one model.  I can't even find a good 3D print file on cults and before the demise of shapeways I didn't see any real good ones there either.

You can also order direct from the factory.

So the one transformer the have looks like it is molded with the cribbing and ancillary equipment as one piece.  Have you bought one and is it molded as one piece or are the pieces separate and able to be loaded as needed?

The Artitec load is one piece. I suppose if one were careful they could be separated.

I am also aware of the old Bachmann one that comes on a depressed flat car.

Woodland Scenics also makes a substation with a transformer.

I know nothing of power transmission other than I don’t want to touch the wires, so I don’t know how accurate any of these models are. IMHO, the Artitec and Woodland Scenics products look acceptable. I believe the Bachmann load could be made acceptable with a little work.

There is also the old Con-Cor Cambria City substation kit, if you can find one.

I don’t know if it would be the level of detail that you want.
