"Atlas in Transit".  Isn't this what they announce over the intercom when Paul Graf is heading to the executive washroom??   :D  "Atlas Shrugs" is when he is reviewing one of my emails...that I know.

Joe

I want to give you a couple extra upvotes for use of an Ayn Rand reference on a model railroad forum.  And maybe a couple more for a humorous Ayn Rand reference, which is seldom seen on any forum.

Who would have guessed that a Sumerian Deity living in Sigourney Weaver's refrigerator would be such an intellectual?
Tom D.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

False alarm on GP-20 shipping per Paul @ Hogtrainz. Received this email:

It's a joke
Atlas said they are only shipping a few SKU numbers
Apparently something had to be corrected here at Atlas in NJ

Will keep you posted - no shipping notice yet from Atlas

Paul

Six years & counting since preorder.

Going by talks in the past. I wouldn't be shocked if the entire crew in Hillside wants to put a brick through that factory's window.

One of these days there's going to be a tell-all story published about the Great GP20 Debacle, and I can't wait to read it. In the meantime I'll keep scraping up secondhand LL UP 474s at train shows to repaint.

Not much to it. GP20s were given to the same factory that did the ALP-45s and they like to make their own improvements to Atlas's spec.
The samples kept getting sent back due to unsatisfactory mechanisms.

Well, that was two days ago.
Still would like to see the specs and features on the RS-3. How many of you are going to have to repaint one for your layout (i.e. your road name not offered)?

GP20's are up at Lombard.

https://lombardhobby.com/search/searchresults/?search_query=Atlas+N+GP20

All Silver versions and no undecorateds.  Looks like I missed (or lucked) out again.  My pre-order was for 2 Gold undecorated locos.

On the other hand, my pusher , er supplier says he can get Gold undecorated RS-3's so I have an order for 3 in now.  Anyone have good drawings for the D&H RS-3m version? Also called an RS-3u?  Not the EMD re-engineed ones, but good old 12-251C motored smokers.

I too was hoping for an undec but who knows there. When I talked to the Atlas Reps at Altoona N Scale weekend they said the Gold would be a few weeks after the silver. They have doing whatever repair they needed to do inhouse.

I wonder what happened to the FA/FB that came in on the same container as the SD45s, GP20s and SD50/60/60es?  I haven't seen any hit the stores since the first batch arrived in June.  I've got a couple of those ordered, too.
