In all seriousness - take all that research for the beautiful HO scale Baldwin road diesels and do them in N. No one has ever touched these in N and it creates a major gap in post war motive power. If they released the AS16 in WM fireball, I’d buy enough to model the entire roster.

Phase 2 and 3 RS3s. Atlas has blown that opportunity for far too long.

I'd love to have a C636.  They lasted into the 80s on the BN, and were common sights in Pasco in the 70s, both in SP&S and BN paint.

If they're willing to do all the phases and road specific details that they've done in HO, then I'd like to see the RSs. If they're only going to make generic models, then don't bother.

I had the Con-Cor Rivarossi one for over 30 years, I bought the Athearn Big-Boy once they started using the Soundtraxx decoders, and I recently bought a Kato, just to have it and see how it was made and mess around with it.  Never had any desire for the BLI version.  But I also have a Sakatsu brass Big-Boy. That one cost me in four figures when I bought it. I think that was before Athearn came out with theirs.  But I'm not an average model railroader. I like to disassemble and tinker with models.  Running them is secondary.

And of course I don't model UP, but the Big-Boy is just so cool looking! 

To me the Athearn one is probably the best considering the price, level of detail, and running quality.  It's a good model.  If I could only keep one, I would keep the Athearn.

On board with the Alco.....as long at it's the C 424.  Not sure why they seem focused on 6 axle locos in that poll.

One thing to remember for everyone asking why these prototypes. These are all locomotives they have done recently in HO, so the research and alot of the digital design is either done or far enough along to make it easier.

I would support any of these being produced, I would like to see analog versions however.

Hmmm...well, let's check this out.  N-scale Big Boys have not been that prevalent.  There initially was the Con-Cor/Rivarossi one, then the Athearn one, then the Broadway Limited one...and lastly, the Kato 4014...which really isn't a "Big Boy" but a specific model of the 4014 in modern excursion form and isn't nearly correct for the 1941 thru 1959 in-service Big Boys, but, I'll count it anyway.  That's four.  I'm not sure how many were made in brass, but I think there were only two importers.  The ones I've had were all imported by Key, all of them manufactured by Samhongsa, and then there's the Oriental Ltd one (Sakatsu, made by Korea Brass Co.)...which I have only seen photos of and only 150 of them were imported.  That's six manufacturers (6).

There were 25 actual Big Boys made for UP by Alco, numbers 4000 thru 4024.

Soooo...the contention that there are a whole bunch of manufacturers making Big Boy models isn't factual.  It's just that the real Big Boys were such an iconic engine, supplying the USA with war materials, equipment movement and pulling long troop trains, that this fame still wears off onto N-scale models of this huge, very successful and long-lived engine.
