Whatever one I grab first, the ex-CR GP60I or B40-8W. They're too weird to let die.

You're so sick.

Lol

Actually. THOSE are sick. I'd vote for the GP60i.

Most of the dear-to-me locomotives were painted and/or customized by friends, so it would be a difficult choice.  But I have detailed a couple myself, so this one is the keeper, warts and all.

This one.  Not because it pulls the most or the most rare or the best paint job or the most expensive or the most (certainly not) prototypical.  It just attracts a ton of audience and attention at train shows.  The kids love it!

This is the Tomix version from Japan.  I shoe horned a decoder in it back in 2006 (also replaced coupler), which was unheard of back then.

I don't know if its my favorite loco, but it is the one I put the most work into, the Alco C855A. I first kit bashed a set of these in the mid 80's, and with the lack of information on them I made a lot of mistakes. A few years back when Shapeway's shells were available I made up a new set and did them right. I even carved off their gross radiator grills and fuel tanks and fabricated my own. Knowing from experience the beating the brass handrails took on my old one's I made these from stainless steel. I guess I would have to save one or all of these.

I know that everyone is supposed to post "just one".

I'd have to pick one of my Santa Fe U30CG's:   https://pbase.com/atsf_arizona/santa_fe_u30cg&page=all

I don't know which one of the three I'd need to grab.  :)
