RIP Kirk Reddie

I just got an email that Kirk Reddie passed away this morning. I have no other details at this time.
He had been having some health issues recently.
I posted it here in the n-scale section because if there ever was a Mr. N-Scale it was him.
Sad news indeed.

He was a good friend for a long time.
Unfortunately, it'd been a few years since I'd seen him.

RIP.

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him.

I’m not here to argue

He was a great cheerleader for N scale.  I regret I never submitted an article to his magazine.

This is terrible news, Kirk was Mr N scale and great promotor of our hobby. I met Kirk in Houston at the first N scale convention in 1983. I count myself extremely lucky to have known him and gone on several pre convention trips. High greens my friend.

Kirk passed away of complications following recent surgery. He was an outstanding proponent of N scale, showcasing both the modeling and the modelers. And always making connections between great folks.

He will be missed greatly. But at least he and Charlie Vlk can start up their weekly phone calls again.

I met and chatted with Kirk some years ago at one of the model RR shows, and we also exchanged some emails.  He was encouraging me to write some articles for his magazine.  I had some subject in mind but I never follow through.

This is a very sad news. Kirk was a super nice guy, and we lost him way too early.
RIP Kirk.

Very sorry to hear this; exchanged emails with him only a few weeks ago.  He made a significant contribution to our N Scale hobby and will be remembered fondly.

Really sucks to hear this. Had many fine conversations with Kirk during my Atlas years. One of the happiest people I ever met in this industry. My fondest memory of him though was when he crashed my high school graduation party to shoot my modest 3x6 layout in the early days of his mag. I have to have a pic of this somewhere...

Such a loss to the N Scale community. Damn.

And not to be ghoulish, but because these things happen, I've mirrored the N Scale Railroading site at http://nscalerailroading.rrarchives.org/ because we know it will eventually go dark.

I'd like to get permission from his family to make that public. Does anyone here know who I should talk to about that (after some time, of course)?
