He did do auto supports. Spending a little time supporting could probably get rid of most of the dimples.
Correct, I just twisted most of the supports off. The A-end doesn’t need most of the support here because the wall is short. I could have gotten away with just supports on the end yoke top edges. Regardless, the result is still superior to FXD faces adjacent to wax support structure. All relief detail is there, including the smallest rivets. That never was possible with FXD.
With DLP and the Craftsman Resin, I’ve found there’s no need to slice under .50mm, as long as your arctangent is correct.
Also of note — there were no floors on this model, which allowed for additional supports on the inside walls.
My DLP results are far superior to anything I’ve printed via Shapeways, and that includes the White Towers and the EP3 detail parts.
Yep, I understood that. Need more to to eliminate the sags in the ends as well.
Only the top edge of the end yoke needs additional support. Everything else on the end at every slice layer is supported by a body section that has build supports.
