Cool. Depending how they were printed you may need to clean out the axle holes.

Thanks for the info on Iron Mountain. I love old photos of railroad history. The mining pics are awesome, gives me a few ideas. The holes for the axles, how would I clean those out? Could I use a small drill bit on my pin vise? Thanks again!!

Well try the wheels first, but yeah a drill bit in a pin vise will work.

The one detail you could add if you want is the strap across the bottom of both journals:

Just use a piece of thin wire.

Oh Man!! I did not see that pic. That would be very cool. I have some thin floral wire that might work. Not sure what gauge it is. Thanks for that!!

 @Scott1984   If I were you I'd ditch the sectional track and use flex track . You will be able to make a much more scenic looking railroad . Using flex you can add some more curves to break up the "track following the edge of the layout".

Hi Mike,
I am using flex track for both top and bottom layers. The oval for the bottom is just for simplicity and it's more of a novelty I guess. Now for the top part, the actual track plan, I think yours looks good. I can look at curving the track and still using my three turnouts. I am not the best at track planing that is for sure. Maybe I will play around with some ideas and post them on here. What size is your layout?

  It's 40" wide x 8' long .  I just laid it out be eye . Easy enough to work in the switches , I just laid them as I went .    Mike

Here is what I will be using in the mine scene for my locomotive. It is a 3d printed critter that is on a kato 11-109 chassis. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with installing led lighting to this chassis? I have tried an online search but have found no info. I did post the same question on the forum but did no get a reply. Thought I would put it here. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!! Man!! I need to take better photos, this is terrible!!
