Which are arriving at about the same time as several other models that I am interested in.  This is when the reservation system with no firm delivery period sucks.  At least I didn't commit to a bunch of stuff I couldn't afford.

Should arrive at Atlas either next week or the week after, I was told.  Search your couches for loose change!

Oh boy it's a Christmas miracle! Now hopefully I can snag enough spare parts to upgrade my Life-Like models.

Atlas is sold out of all road names. Good for them.

Happy for the transition era folks to get some motive power.

Now Atlas give us some centerbeam flats and more covered hopper variety.

Wonder if these drives will fit the old Life Like shells. I'd love to put sound in my FA2s!

^Except FA1's have a slightly shorter wheelbase.

It's amazing that we hear about underwhelming N-Scale sales (from several companies, but most recently Rapido) and then see a fairly consistent situation where Atlas locomotives are all (almost) Sold Out before the container even reaches our shores.  Apparently Atlas will not have an inventory problem with unsold FA1s. In fact the only FA1's indicating still available for order direct from Atlas are Silver Series FB1's in EL, NYC or PRR. We will probably never know how many more units could have been sold if only they had more faith in their own product and had ordered more in production.

The website isn’t up to date. The entire run is sold out.

Are not most of the new releases from Atlas shown as "Sold Out" before they arrive in the warehouse?

Companies are matching production runs to pre orders much more closely than ever in these times to avoid being stuck with lots of unwanted inventory. No one makes as many "extras" as they used to. Even spare parts are hard to get from China under this model.

Luckily (for me) any interest I have in the FA's is mitigated by the roads in this first run.

That way I will not be surprised/dismayed by any surprises in the circuit board -- like the SD7/9 E24 plug for which there is no non-sound decoder.

Faith doesn't pay the bills. Especially when dealing with the fickle attitudes and buying habits of N-Scalers :ashat:
