Bachmann? Can't be BLI with see-through sides. Duh - I just saw the Boxing Glove coupler. Must be Bachmann.
Meh. I'm waiting for the missile launcher. Or the helicopter car.
I've got a toy train side that I rarely talk about in mixed company <grin>. I go really sideways if there's American Flyer wide gauge involved!Lowell Smith, back in the day, had MTL run an entire series of Lionel O Gauge "6464" boxcars in N scale. As the "6464" boxcars were usually included in some pretty neat sets, occasionally I'll get an itch to explore conversion of other Lionel ideas to N scale.
Thanks for refreshing my memory. I remembered the tiny "Lionel" N scale cars in orange cardboard boxes, but I didn't remember who, or when produced them. So it was MTL. I'm, surprised we never hear about them. I would have expected them to become highly prized collectibles, since the series should interest both, MTL and Lionel collectors. Did they?
Maybe they've held better than the standard MTL car prices. Original special run price was $19.95 and they go for $40 for a basic one to $60+ for a more desirable scheme. Most Lowell Smith stuff is about that way though. He's out PT Barnum'd the other special run collectibles. <grin>
The next Railwire challenge will be to combine the Bachmann animated car with the sound chassis from the BLI.
I'm thinking we should have some of the significate members of railwire scanned and provide 3d prints to insert in those openings. Imagine Ed waving to you as the car goes by on your layout LOL
