Some good news here, my Soo roster has a Mighty Need for some GP30s.

Hopefully Scaletrains makes the GP30 with a non DB shell.
I might have to go full Bob Rivard and model the fleet!

Thanks for the report Jason!

They do in the HO release, albeit for C&NW.

I confirmed this morning with MTL that they also had placards up for the 65' Mill Gondola, and had an assembled sample on display.  The model will debut this summer.

Don't remember seeing the placard but he did show me the model.  It was certainly nice but I wasn't very interested as we have too many prototypical 65' gondolas compared to 52'6" versions.

It was announced back in August.

No. All the shells have been cancelled.

So ST is going to screw up the FVM locos in n scale by "updating the mechanism" on what is probably my best running group of locomotives? My FVM fleet of gp60's, SD70s and GEVOs run great as is. I have less issues with all of my FVM stuff than my few ST locomotives (that have been back to ST several times) and if I do have any issues with a FVM loco I can easily work on it compared to the rats nest of wires from 1970 I find in a ST loco.  They just can't leave something good alone.

Honestly I'm fine with new mechs for the 60s. out of the 5 I have, not a single one runs at the same speed as another which has been incredibly hard to consist and speed match them together. One runs even slower than even Atlas. not to mention even thinking about putting sound in them has been nightmare inducing for me. So at the very least I'm hoping I can get new mechs for the ones I have already with DCC sound anyway...
Ill admit I have one ST Dash 9, it runs fine, I have no issues outside of a ditchlight was installed incorrectly.

To each their own. I own a few too many ST locos, and a few less FVM ones, and every single FVM loco (all gevos) except one gives me trouble, while the ST ones have been absolutely perfect.

I haven't tried any ST locos (yet.)

Bought three FVM GP60M's. One ran about a foot, the other two ran, but not close to each other speed wise.

Not a very good first impression, and it got worse when I opened them up.

If ST can iron out the issues, they could have a good seller IMO

My FVM Gevos all run great, have ESU 6 pin decoders in.  I'll have ST when I can get them at my LHS, which isn't happening anytime soon, so more for the rest of you  :D

Well, that is good news. I really thought these would turn into vaporware, with Athearn rumors about a re-release of the same prototype...
