Tried shortening just the longitudinal arms but it didn't work; best procedure that I can find is to replicate the image that
@Bart1701
posted. There are some electronic components on either side of the rear LED on the Digitrax board that foul the shell. Perhaps the TCS version doesn't have this issue?

Glad you figured it out.
This is sadly not rare.
When I placed a TCS decoder in a Kato NW2 years ago, the exhaust stack was pushed up.
I had to trim the pin on the exhaust stack to get it to go back down.
