In a quick follow up to @DeltaBravo finding the IM wheels marked for MT trucks not fitting, I too have found some that do not spin freely after installed in the truck.  It's not a certain MT truck style except I did find a trend of the 70 ton roller bearing trucks, specifically those that were factory installed on Fox Valley Models 5347 boxcars do not like them.  But I also found some 100 ton roller bearing MT trucks they did not like.  Meanwhile, the other night I replaced about a dozen MT cars with no issues.

@mu26aeh Thanks for the update. Since the beginning of the thread I started testing and have found a mix of results. Every axel has been long and sometimes they work and other times they don't. There does not seem to be any pattern.

Sorry if this is a bit of a thread drift, but does anyone make a truck tuner like they do for HO?  It seems that many of us would benefit from something like this.

That's great! Thanks David!  I have seen the H0 versions for many years, and I was going to make an N scale one myself.  Few years back I bought couple of HSS 1/8" 60 deg. countersink bits.  I was going to cut them to appropriate length and then joint them together using brass tubing.  I still haven't gotten to that project. Now for 15 bucks I can buy a pair already made (and with plastic rollers to make reaming easier).  Awesome!

Thanks a million!  I gave up ever expecting these to be available in N-scale years ago!  And, the price is certainly right...

Cheerio!

Just completed the purchase for some tools that I have been needing for some time now.

Thanks for sharing this info.

Well, for those of you are still looking to purchase them, thanks to David, Iron Planet Hobbies is now sold out of the DCCconcepts N Scale Axle Bearing Reamer Sets.

Unaware of the power that can wielded by a combined group of Railwire members, Iron Planet must be wondering why there was suddenly so much interest in this product.

You can join the Iron Planet Hobbies waitlist to be emailed when this product becomes available again.

I bought mine on eBay (but the seller was Planet Hobbies).  I believe these are made in UK, and some vendors in UK probably still have them in stock.

Yes, DCCconcepts Ltd is indeed located in Settle, North Yorkshire, UK, which explains the firm's production of metric sized tools.

Heartland Hobby Wholesale is a US distributor for DCCconcepts products and as a US listed dealer, Iron Planet Hobbies carries quite a number of other interesting items from the UK based manufacturer.

I think I might've gotten the last two (one for me, one for my dad).

Sorry homies!

If you don't want to wait for them to come back into stock in the US.

https://www.dccconcepts.com/product/bearing-reamers-set-of-two-n/

Be warned though, shipping from the UK is rather slow of late.  I'm still waiting on an order from two weeks ago from Tramfabriek.  In the past, I'd have the order a week after Sven notified me that it was shipped out.  He shipped the current order the day I placed it a tad over two weeks back.

Edit: There's a message on DCC Concepts home page that let's you know that international orders can't be shipped at this time due to a hack of the Royal Mail system.

Okay, Ed, since you goaded me to do the math....
a 1k ohm resistor on your wheelset would only draw 12 mA, and a 10k (which I presume you are using, or even higher)
would only draw 1.2mA.  So carbon conductive goo would work fine.  And any additional resistance it imparts would be
negligable because the length of carbon track is so short.
Actually, there is a company, Creative Materials, that makes "resistive inks" in a variety of resistance value.
i.e. you can buy some that is "10,000 ohms per centimeter" for example.  If you used that, you don't need a resistor at all.
Just a stripe of ink and you've got your conductive wheelset.  But I cannot find anybody who sells it retail.

As for the "told me he was a girl" thing... to be honest, all I remember is that more than one person was joking
about that on that day and I myself do not even know why.  All I knew was that they had been busting Ed
about it, and nobody had yet put it in the video, so I figured I'd be the one.
But I have no idea what it means.  LOL.
