Those were the first Kato models using the (then new) low-friction truck design.  They are really good pullers.

And they are very heavy too .

"Final" weathering done? Maybe.

I feel like the "oil leak" doesn't quite look oily enough. And I'm still not sure about the replacement battery box doors.

What do you all think?

Love what you're doing, nice job highlighting the grilles with black wash.  One thing that sticks out (to me) is the clean roof.  Maybe consider some dust/oxide pigments there?

Same here.  Roof looks too clean, especially the nose "roof" looks like there some weathering/dirt going on there.

Thanks. I'll give that some thought.

My intent was to represent a recently repainted unit that's still an early U boat at heart (ie, still leaking oil and blowing soot).
