N-Scale Weekend, Altoona, PA in pictures

Wow!  What a weekend!  The location and facility were fantastic!  The weather was fantastic!  The participants were fantastic!  Mike Phillips and The Altoona Association of Model Railroaders (AAMR) were fantastic!  Everything ran like clockwork!  I think the N-Scale Weekend has reached its pinnacle, coming from the old days at Bedford (before my time, in a basement with no A/C) to now a commercial, professional Convention Center at Blair County, PA.

The AAMR was amazing in making sure everything run smoothly.  There were hourly(?) raffle prizes.  If you registered, you're entered.

Can't wait for 2023, which will be September 23, 24 as per the President of AAMR.

Think they've found a home for the foreseeable future.  And excellent news on the date, I'll be able to to Mainlines open house weekend, and the following weekend relax and rewind in Altoona !

There was an unfortunate incident at the show that not many knew about.  Hopefully there were lessons learned for next year's show.

Wow Mike, how the heck did you manage to heard all those notoriously elusive model railroaders, and keep them in one place long enough to take a group photo?!  Amazing!  Or is it just a very clever Photoshop-job (in today's world one never knows)?   :D  You also had to get the escalators stopped somehow.  Wow!

LOL Peteski!  Funny you say that.  After the picture and throughout the remaining event, people were coming up to me congratulating me on the excellent job of cat hearding!!!!  At first I didn't put 1 and 1 together until they told me they were referring to the group photo.  Nothing Photoshopped, just a loud voice!  :D

I had eyed that location and scenario in the morning for a perfect/different group picture as the escalators were not running.  But later mid morning someone turned it on so now I was panicking on where could I do the group photo!  But when it was time the AAMR club called Building Maintenance at my request and they came to stop it just for the picture.

That second shot makes me really glad I was wearing a hat....

And I was notified of the 'Oh, the HUMANITY' disaster at Hickory Bridge!

Of note I managed to miss the Railwire group photo again by going to lunch. I think it’s now a tradition.

Great weekend all around.

Philip doesn't really exist.  :)

Then there's this.  I think Trees run in the family but I sense a bit of a competition.

MK,
Many thanks to you and Ed K. for all the photos.  First "N Scale Weekend" I wasn't able to attend.  Maybe next year?

This one's for you, Mike.  That brief shining moment when the lights worked!

I brought the modules home with me so I can get that damn switch fixed!
