I got hose in different area codes

I was tired of @chicken45 s incessant abuse, and also tired of fighting with my badger, so I upgraded my airbrush game today.

And because my workspace isn't big enough to set up the spray booth I built a stand for it.

I tried this before with a monitor stand but was unhappy with the results. This is much better.

And of course I had to give it a try.

Lol, I know, I know.

But I figured out what was screwing me up. I hated spending more time cleaning than painting, and I think a lot of that was driven by the syphon design of my badger. It had a lot of passages to clean when you were done. With this? Just blow some alcohol through it and I'm good.

I've been using my siphon-feed Badger 200 for over 30 years and it is pretty much problem free.  However I only use stinky paints and get the paint passages clean immediately after I finish the spraying session.  If you use water-based enamel paints which set quickly then I can;t comment on that.

Ed, you won't be sorry.  It is a great airbrush and easy to maintain.

I use windshield washer fluid to both thin and clean up acrylics...  Cheap and it works great on <most> acrylics, including craft paints, which I've found doesn't like some alcohols.

If you're using Tamiya acrylics...  IPA works great, but only with Tamiya.

Enjoy your airbrush Ed...  Any airbrush (except for maybe the cheap bottom grade Badgers) are a game changer.  I've yet to buy an Iwata, but that's next on my list of must have tools.  Been using a Badger "Patriot", which is not too bad.

@chuck geiger , this is what I got.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BQKFAI?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

I have a question. Last night I used it for the first job I would've previously brushed: a couple MDC underframes.

Unthinned Tamiya Flat Black @ 20psi.

They're not nearly as "flat" as I've seen this paint before. Any idea what's up with that?

The flatteiniig agent might have settled on the bottom and didn't get properly mixed into the paint? Did you shake, and/or stir the bejesus out of it before using it?

I did shake it. I thought. Maybe I hadn't. I really need one of those paint shakers.
