I've got a dozen Red Caboose cars.  Have 6 of these on order.  How many of the RC cars will survive, if any....

I remember when Kato announced their Amfleet cars, I dumped my Bachmann Amfleets at the drop of a hat (while the value was still high).  :D

I ran my RC centerbeams on a manifest on my layout recently. I believe I have 8 of them. I used to be extremely vigilant on eBay and would search "Red Caboose N Scale Centerbeam" often. One time I lucked out with a lot of 3 or 4 for a decent price.

I made a preorder for - I think - 7 Rapido Trains centerbeams: A TTX 6-pack and a single NOKL. I thought about whether I should sell all my RC centerbeams right now. For the time being, I plan to hold on to them and see how they play with the Rapido Trains centerbeams. If they stick out like a sore thumb, adios.

Looks like jacking pads(s) are brass, one looks a bit "rough"

Probably been knocked around a bit on the samples - they're in the wrong spots and in different spots on both cars.

Centerbeams are soon to be leaving the factory, and before the HO ones  :o

"If you have wood right now..."    :D :P

Ok that made me laugh.  The entire video was pretty good.

After the week(s) I've had, this was a great distraction.

Packers#1:  I've seen a few on NS loaded with pipes, steel structural shapes, and "unknown wrapped stuff", so you don't need a lumber-related industry to have one.

That said, I don't need one, for 1974, unless someone makes the original NP version.  Yes, they had some before the BN merger.  I never saw one, in Pasco, before or after the merger, so don't know where they ran.

I'm guessing it's a better play to *not* order only two of these direct.    I probably should have ordered at least one additional to offset the shipping from Canada, or ordered them from a US dealer.   Dang near $60ea this way.  (and no sound!  :D :P )   Oh well, at least they seem to be very nice models.  I'm actually looking forward to more roadnames.

The underside detailing should come in very handy for prototypically modeling Tehachapi......

Finally, a reasonable explanation for Rapido's obsession with underbody details.
