What does CP use now?  Aren't these still the normal type of lumber car?

CP has a lot with SOO reporting marks (ARI and Trenton cars matching the Atlas model (in HO at least, not sure if they've done in N as well)) and leased cars with AOK, ATW, and LW etc. marks are common.

Some of the former CP cars went to SRY, ATW, etc.

Further, looking at the service (as listed in equipment registers) dates for the CP cars, it looks like the 1988 built cars were off in 2003, and the 1998 cars in 2013......  that's consistent with being returned to lessor after a 15 year lease period.

The specific CP series more than likely was sold or re-leased, vs retired/scrapped.   CP most assuredly still uses centerbeams.

Here are some notes I found about that series on one site:
Some re#SRY 318001-318262 /03 & BCOL 873850-873899? /03  (not posting a link as the site is not secure)
This bears out that they were probably sold or the lease was up, etc.   Could just be an accounting thing, too.

Also if you model the mid 1990s, a lot of older 51'6" bulkhead flats were rebuilt with centre post kits then, although available models are non exisitent.

You can use the Prairie Shadows 52'8" bulkhead to stand in for the CN ones.

Some 66' flats were also rebuilt by CN, BCOL, and ONT, in HO Rapido is coming out with the base model, I think in N there was a resin/printed car from Briggs?

Another nineties series I forgot about before:

SGLR 6000-6299 blt 1998 NSC   http://canadianfreightcargallery.ca/cgi-bin/image.pl?i=sglr6299&o=sglr

Nevermind the "Seminole Gulf Railway" marks on this one, these cars had lettering on them indicating OWNED BY CGTX INC and LESSEE CANADIAN FOREST PRODUCTS and were common on CN and CP trains in the early 2000s.

A bunch of these have since been renumbered DWC and WRWK.

BCH 20000-20099 blt. 1988 NSC (re# MSDR /1991) ** (as MSDR) http://canadianfreightcargallery.ca/cgi-bin/image.pl?i=msdr20073&o=msdr

So, do you know if the BCH series 1000-1069 be a continuation of this production run, and subsequently also MSDR?
1000-1069 FBC Bulkhead Flat 70 1/1988-4/1991 73.0 11.4 NSC  Blt 1-2/88 Stl. Centre beam

It looks like it falls right at the end of the build dates for that 20000-20099 series, and also ends its run in 1991.   Either way, if it was simply a reletter (and assuming NSC didn't change the car at that point) it could still be fairly simple to reletter back to BCH and backdate it 3 years.  (I guess I'm also assuming they didn't get repainted, which of course would then also result in potentially different dimensional data placement, etc, etc.)

Not saying I would go to that much trouble, since I'm sure that Rapido will make more roads eventually.  And while Canadian roads are/were definitely prominent, having 3 might be Canada-heavy given that I likely won't have more than maybe a dozen or so total.  And, the opera windows seemed much more common then from my recollection.    But, it might be an interesting mod for *somebody*.

I have "proof of life"...again from Mr. Charles.   https://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=45666   I pretty well count anything (BN) from Denver south into Texas between about 1986 and 1990 as in scope.  EDIT: And that one does seem to have the "Early Z Pattern" top truss.

The listing for BCH 1000-1069 (I completely missed that one) definitely appears to be for brand new cars, as is BCH 20000-20099, and active at the same time. Both series leave in 1991, probably both to MSDR?

I've also seen some higher numbered MDSR cars in the 201xx range; these have the entire number in stencil, evidencing not original #s. These "could" be BCH 1000-1069 but sample cars are lettered NEW 12-87, while the roster info would suggest the other BCH car series to be built in 2-88, so there's a bit of a question mark on that one.

Here's "proof of life" on the BCH 20000 series:

yes they are, with a little heft to them. Looks like jacking pads(s) are brass, one looks a bit "rough"

Super glad to see a beefy metal deck like that.  These should be great.
