Ok, so S vs Mono, what's the trade off?

Mono is newer, uses the monochromatic screen which prints faster and usually last longer (as in # of printing hours).  The Mono X has a larger print area so bigger things can be printed vs the Mono SE or the Photon S

Photon S has the original multicolor LCD screen which lets less light in the 405nm band through so print times are longer. This translates to a hotter screen and lower life.

Printing speed wise it's Photon Mono SE, Photon Mono X, Photon Mono, Photon S

The printing area is about 15mm longer and 15mm wider on the Mono SE and the Mono over the Photon S

They are all close but not necessarily the same.  Oddly enough, the original Photon/Photon S had the smallest resolution.  Though not by much.

There will be a little light bleed, but the smaller the pixels the higher the resolution. Screen size has nothing at all to do with resolution.

Pretty much.  As Chris says, there is a little light bleed around each pixel, it depends on the opacity of the resin, the layer thickness you choose and sometimes the phase of the moon.

So, a true-to-scale version of a 3/4" grab iron in N scale would be about 2.4 pixels - call it 3 pixels.

Can 3-D printers make decent looking ridges that thin, to make printed-on grab irons like the molded-on ones we typically get from the mainstream rolling stock vendors?
