Thanks for the heads up.  Going to miss the White Hut burgers this year.

So is it just me or the schedule not showing anything beyond when they will be live?

I am mainly interested in what clinics they might have, but the layout tours will probably be interesting as well. I just can't stay in front of the computer all day all weekend next weekend.

I just can't stay in front of the computer all day all weekend next weekend.

And there in lies the problem with any virtual shows or events.  A few months ago, a big well known photography show in NYC was like that.  In person would have been a weekend long show.  Virtually I didn't attend any of it as the schedule of events was not clear, there were many events happening at the same time so you had to be in the right "room", but mainly I couldn't sit in front of a screen all day or even for a few hours waiting for what's next.

It's one thing to be at a day long show in person where you can roam, stop at will, chat with vendors or friends you haven't seen in awhile, buy stuff, etc.  Announcements of new items can be accomplished by going to the manufacturer's website after the fact.  You'll probably get better and clearer pictures than items held up to a webcam.

BTW, it's not just you.  I scoured the site and could not find a schedule, yet.

https://virtualrailfan.com/amherst/

Time slots underneath the dates where it says "click on the time to reveal the event"  It's a little unhandy to have to click each time slot.  I would think it would have been easier to to do just listing the slots and presenter.

Just a little. I saw that, clicked on a couple to see what was underneath, and blew it off as an enormous waste of my time. Even with in-person shows I have no interest in 90% of what is there, "flash browsing" as I'm walking down the aisles only stopping if I spot something interesting. So it's much more valuable to see a list with basic info such as vendor, and quick-scan for points of interest.

Frankly, I think a "virtual show" based on a schedule is a totally flawed concept. I sure as heck am not going to poke holes in my day to run to the computer to see disparate presentations just because it's so-and-so's turn in the barrel for product announcements. Just have a website with links to prepared vids and leave it at that.

Yep. If it were interactive and you could ask questions then it might be different.

This was posted earlier on the LayoutCommandControl Groups IO mail list.  It's a PDF with the Amherst Show schedule. No clicking a million times to get the schedule.

Ken Cameron has 30 minutes on Sunday from 11:30 - 12:00 to talk about JMRI

Ok, so they took the videos down  (as of this very moment, they are not on the channel) https://www.youtube.com/c/VirtualRailfan/videos

I was going to "scroll" through vids to see if anyone else had an N scale announcement, but I guess not!

Thanks for the initial post but for me I personally just can't get into the virtual show because I have had the pleasure of attending the live one in the past.

Are they behind the paywall? Not going there.

Thanks, Bryan.

The Amherst Society is reorganizing the two days into smaller videos with indexing so it will be easier to find content.  I'm assuming those will be posted to the Amherst YouTube page at some point.
