The total thickness of Kapton tape consists of about 2/3 Kapton (hard material) and 1/3 of rubbery adhesive. Stacked in 9 layers, there is enough adhesive in the stack to make the stack slightly elastic (compressible). Will this be a problem?
Overcurrent? Aren't those motors stepper motors?
... but there is a lot of banding about every 1/16".Now I need to take the slide bearing off and see if there is any adjustment to tighten it up a bit.
Overcurrent is when the load on the motor is too high, driving the current required to move the load higher than the maximum specification.I'm not sure what your reference to the motor being a stepper motor has to do with it. But I do know servo motors can overcurrent and sometimes do, though they might overheat first.JB
Steppers are totally different type of motor than permanent magnet motors (whether they are the old commutator style, or brushless) I never seen a stepper motor used in a servo.In my experience, stepper motors always use maximum current to sequentially power its coils. And the current is applied even when the motor is stopped (not stepping). That is done to prevent unwanted rotation of the shaft. Due to the way they work (and since the maximum current is always being used). you cannot overcurrent stepper motor. The stepper motor coils are designed to be continuously powered.
Can't believe this Sonic Mini was $400 and need so much work to make it work. It is easier to work on and that is about the only good thing about it.
Just asking to make sure. Does it matter how tight I pinch down the backlash spring under here? I have it a little tighter than it came.
