Model Power headlights

Hi, Have a question for you MP users of Mikes and Pacifics. How do you see where the headlight wipers are on the things? MP told me to just reach in there and reseat them if light fails to work. I am loath to just poke around without definite plan of approach.  Any suggestions?

You have to pull off the driver bottomplate to get at them. They start there and extend upwards to the bulb. They are not fun to deal with!  :x

For some reason Chrome doesn't want to display images from my website here, so here's the link -

Chrome won't show by default unsecure images on secure sites.  Almost everyone who host photos from their own site is having this issue.

The work around is for individuals to tell chrome to allow these images.

Or here if you don't need pictures.

Yeah, that design is not the greatest.  IIRC, the headlight is isolated from the rest of electrical pickups, getting its power only from the front drivers.

By the way, the last revision (MRC branded) of these engines changed the bulb to an LED, and replaced the separate wipers with wires run from the tender harness.  This was a nice improvement, and allows a DCC decoder in the tender to control the headlight.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.
