Peco N C55 Unifrog turnouts?

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has used these new Unifrog T/O's yet, and if you have, what do you think?

Hi Joe - yea they work as advertised - the difference from the previous generation code55 electrofrog turnouts are:
1. A metal frog that is fully isolated
2. The frog comes with a drop wire to connect to your slideswitch/machine/frog juicer
3. and the closure rails are electrically connected to their respective stock rails as to not rely electrically on the contact between stock and point rails.

Electrically that sounds like  same scheme that is used on Atlas c55 turnouts.

Well, there's only so many ways you can isolate a frog. Maybe cutoff his Facebook account?

I have a single unifrog on a ntrak module; the straight track is all Atlas code 80.  Matches up pretty close, there was a little bit of filing to match up railheads.  Never seen a derail on it at a show so you know it's reliable considering all the different equipment folks run through.  Powered it with a tam valley frog juicer.  A bit expensive but it's a reliable solution that was easy to install.  Turnout is thrown by hand without any kind of groundthrow.

I haven't bought anymore Peco as my current projects are another set of ntrak modules using ME code70 and Free-moN with atlas code 55.  ME code 70 has more prototypical North America tie spacing which is the reason I switched from Peco for new installs.

And yes Atlas code 55 and Peco code 55 are electrically.  I've installed several on my free-mon; I wish the Atlas came with a spring like the Pecos.  Although Atlas code 55 being a finer grade, perhaps trusting operators to move point rails with their fingers like we do with Peco's would be asking for trouble.

Yeah, probably end up with boogers all over the rails.

Do they have the same tie size and spacing as their OOO gauge turnouts from 1960?

Just went on peco website and went to the plans pages.  It seems the tie spacing is the same as the regular code 55 electrofrogs.

The photo is of a prior turnout...no isolated metal frog, or terminal for powering it.

Looking at the tie shape and spacing, the spike size, and the rails themselves, this sure looks like H0 turnout to  me.

It shows similar frog design as the suspected ho turnout posted above but looks to be electrically the same if physically just a little different in the placing of the frog isolation gaps.  Tie spacing Looks typical peco and same a previous electro frog. So, still A bit big a spacing for US prototype which also noted in an earlier post in this thread.

FWIW, I modified all of the Electrofrog turnouts I use in staging to make them electrically the same as a new Unifrog.  Here's a post from 2014 showing the gap & feeder configuration I used to do so.  If I were doing this over, I would go with Unifrogs.
