I finished up the Lark triple unit food service cars (Kitchen/Dormitory; Diner; Lounge).  I tried to add the silver/white decal stripes between the light grey and dark grey paint on the sides, but my decals were being difficult, so I left them off.  I may go back and add them at some point, but it's good for now.  It runs very well on the layout; no issues with the articulation assembly (video coming shortly).

Stuff on my Layout is taking its time drying out so I banged out a Fine N scale X-32 kit this evening.

.



So, little thing for any other Pennsy Modelers out there. The only paint I used for the base painting was a rattle can of Tamiya Fine Oxide Red Surface Primer. Its pretty dead on color wise to the colors discussed here in the past.

In-progress re-fit of a Life-Like Proto 0-8-0 to Loksound 5.







Still to do is replacing the LEDs, and after that, it will be done.

Seen here in an action shot with other recent Loksound 5 conversions (thanks to the WVD Next18 board). Also, if anyone knows anything about the type of whistle Erie would have used on this engine, please let me know, I have not been able to find information on the internet, and don't have any print materials to source information from.

This is one of the most realistic and satisfying n-scale cab rides I have seen to date. The track work is outstanding with smooth transitions from arrow-straight tangents to wide, sweeping curves, and wobble-free running. The scenery that has been completed is excellent and the structures are all appropriate and look good. Everything works well and the end result is worthy of a much larger scale. Very well done.

Power-wise, we have (4) B23ES7s (original B23-7s still the same mechanisms); (2) B32-9Ws (BXX-7 mechs, with Kato C44-9W shells) and (1) B20GS (BXX-7 mech modified with modified B23-7 shell).
Atlas released the B23-7s in October of 2000.

Support-wise, there is the Dynamometer Car (FCN 100) (Kato Smooth-Side RPO, modified).


And our Engine Testbed (FCN 101) (BXX-7 frame and Cab, Dash 8-32BHW shell on a Plastic mechanism).

Our Newest Addition... (well more like an "upgrade") is FCN 234.
I originally build the engine as a "B-Unit" B23-7.  When I upgraded the entire fleet to "GEVO" status, ten years ago. I built the new body still as a "B-Unit"

I decided to save as much of the "B" as possible.  So, I only added a "Cab and Short-hood".  It also finally got a "powered" mechanism, since it has always been a "Dummy" unit.
There is a slight color difference in the Cab to Body.  That is from continually adding (remixing) the original paint acquired from Polly Scale, back in 2002.

The Present Layout that these guys run-on, was started 21 years ago, next March.. (March 2000)..

I installed numbers in the numberboards on my Kato Southern Pacific PA's.  I also swapped out the front coupler on the lead unit with a true scale couplers.

Individual numbers are a pain in the a**......

I've found it easier to apply the numbers to black trim film on the bench, seal and then cut the film to fit in the allotted numberboard space @altohorn25

I put a light coat of road weathering on the PA's; I'm going to call them done for the time being.
