HOn30 boxcab from a Bachmann 44 ton?

I've been playing around with some Tomix track, thinking about putting together a micro n scale layout. Then I got to thinking about an HOn30 layout, so I got out my collection of HO buildings and it just so happens I can fit every single HO building I have on this little track layout-

So then I got to thinking about converting my little 44 tonner into a HOn30 locomotive. I could go the center cab route and scratchbuild a larger cab and extend the sides a bit with some strip styrene. Or I could build a boxcab body, and maybe preserve the shell of the 44 tonner and even be able to swap the shells, for two locos in one. Has anybody tried a conversion like this? Are there any kits available that would make it simpler before I start?

I say do it!

I planned at one time to make an N scale version out of it.

Might still do it someday.

I opened them in a private window and they worked for me.
