I bid and believe I won the PWRS Conrail Intermountain PS4750’s / H56A’s. I missed out on these the first time around, so I am ecstatic I won. They will help fill out Conrail train GRB (unit grain Baltimore terminal). Thanks @pdx1955 for starting this thread!Jeff
I won something as well. Has anyone received an invoice yet? In the results email, they say shortly but I haven’t got anything yet and want to make sure it’s not just me. And yes, some of the stuff went extremely cheap. The Deluxe Maxi Stacks-III went for 40-50 bucks each. That surprised me the most. The Red Caboose autoracks comparably did okay but still significantly under market value I’d say.
I was shocked at how quickly it went thru. Most lots were 30 seconds or less, unless there were multiple bidders. I think the N scale was done by 12 eastern, with a 10 eastern start time. 100 lots/hour or better. You had to be on your toes and hope you didn't have any lag.You should have gotten an email from them, subject " Your Auctions results.... "
I did get one of those emails, but it said they are waiting for final confirmation of my winning bid. I am being cautiously optimistic until it is confirmed. Thanks.Jeff
I got my invoice from them a little before noon today.
This seems like an incredibly unwieldy way to buy things.
My invoice came yesterday. I got 36 mostly Canadian grain hoppers for $190. By the time I get them to my door they will be about $330 Canadian. Still less than $10 per car which normally sell in my LHS for $35. I plan to sell about 15 of them as they don’t suit my needs so that will recoup some of the expense. My CPR grain unit train is approaching awesome!I had never heard of this auction before. Thanks for posting about it. Is there not normally much N scale?Craig.
