I'd love to see you blow away powdered chalk that's been rubbed into a rough surface... Seriously, the stuff won't go anywhere, even if--or especially if--you wanted it to.

Absolutely correct.

Oh yeah, I have a layout.

Only just got the main tacked down and wired.
Lotta stuff to do before even thinking of scenery.
-Fill and sand the bridge pieces so its vaguely square, then carve more detail  and paint/add railings
-Finish track laying on sidings
-Finish filler ties on sidings/and main
-Wire up the sidings for DCC
-Add some form of switch machines.

Finished up this  fun little weekend project.

I do enjoy the irony of half the "THINK SAFETY" sign crookedly dangling off the wall  :D

The hose was probably a bridge too far, but I had to give it a shot  :)

No modeling for me. Finally putting together my paint booth (6ft fume hood) after being in pieces for a couple of years...

[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Almost at the halfway point. Just waiting on a few fasteners to replace the ones that magically turned into rust, and the ducting for the blower to continue.

P.S. Sorry the image is rotated 90 degrees. Didn't realize that it did that...

That is a serious size paint booth.  Are you planning to paint some really large items?  If not, you may want to consider installing a removable partition or divider and make it into two smaller booths.  Maybe one for spraying water based paints and the other for solvent based paints.  What size exhaust fan  are you planning to use and how are you planning on setting up the booth filters?  One large filter or install a grid and use smaller filters?  You may want to watch out for blow back or roll back if the exhaust fan isn't strong enough.  I'm not an expert on industrial paint spray booths, but I've used them from time to time, changed filters and cleaned out a booth a few times.

N scale mostly. I got it for "free" when my workplace was demoing a lab and I knew it was in good condition, so no nasty surprises. :D I was actually going to put a partition in the middle of the hood. I will probably use the right side for painting and the left for misc stuff, like photo etching, air eraser and such. The back of the hood there are baffles to control the air movement and balance everything out. The blower that I have is the actual unit that was paired with the hood originally and can pump well above 1000 CFM for its application (2060 CFM in free air). Also, I am planning on using filters inside of the hood to catch overspray (probably built into the partition), and possibly filters after the blower to help keep particulates down. It's in a large space (heated pole barn) with plenty of ventilation so I am not to concerned with the VOCs getting too high in the room. I'll most likely change things accordingly once it's up and running.

No modeling for me this week... unless you count 1:1 scratchbuilding.

Got into some more customization this week and added another car to my Ontario Northland Polarbear Express.

APU 205.

More detail in the build thread.

Depends on if you're the kind of person who sees a bit of stray shmootz on the layout and blows on it to get rid of it  :D

Finished the PRR F25a well flat car and it’s propeller load. Propellers were made in Philadelphia (and still are at the Naval Foundry Propeller Center) and sent to shipyards around the country. The F25a is from an etched brass kit by Allen Eck. Thanks again to Bryan Bussey for sending me the kit.

But are the drawers animated?

Well, they're the self-closing type, so in a manner of speaking, yes.

I once had the pleasure of extracting a former schoolmate out of his car he managed to wrap around a tree after flipping it and I also enjoyed the irony of his "Caution - Crazy Driver" bumper sticker.

The hose was probably a bridge too far, but I had to give it a shot  :)

Looks great .

Going back and adding some vehicles to some of my ‘Mother Road’ T-TRAK modules.
These eat up vehicles quickly, even when only a few are needed for certain modules.
Vehicles are a mixture of Rasputen, Showcase Miniatures, GHQ, and Classic Metal Works.

Action at the PRR paint shop:  2 F25 well flat cars, and a GRa gon (TrainCat):

Next stop lettering.  Also made progress on the ship’s propeller load for the F25:

Looks great @dougnelson! My GRa is in teh same state. I will turn it in to a MOW car despite my accidentally painting it FCC. I can't remember if I have GRa decals, but I definitely have the MVS MOW ones.
