Challenge #5 - Sabillasville MD Free-moN module

Since I'm building a few WM inspired free-moN modules set in the early 1950s, I'll see what I can get done on the one that's the furthest along, the horseshoe curve at Sabillasville MD.

Since I have a layout thread running, to get this one going, I'll simply say here's what I'm going for as it appears now:

And here's where I'm at:

What do you use to shape the foam?

I've been using a foam rasp for contouring, but the other tool that I've found particularly helpful is a flush cut saw. This one came with interchangeable blade, so I've been using the coursest of the three to do rough cuts. Man it makes a mess!

Lots of updates on this module! The highway has been paved, scenery base, the bridge has been planted, and ballast has been spread.

I finished up my module a few weeks ago, but was able to tote it outside today to take some pictures. A photographer I am not, but I got a few lucky shots.

Here's the finished module from late last month

And today's shots

Since you nailed this bridge scene, I'd say the next obvious module to work on would be THURMONT  :D

I had not looked at the Challenge section on Railwire for a long time, so I missed your posts.

You have build an excellent model of Sabillasville Curve. The bridge is an eye-catcher!!
Well done!!

I had build a version of the same curve, following Fremo standards over here in Germany. I think I had posted this YouTube Link before, but if not:
