Reese that F50 is sweet!!! Those cars were built by the Penn Central at the ex NYC Despatch Car Shop in East Rochester, NY in 1969 and 1970. Those would be very useful to PC, Conrail, NS and CSX modelers. They are also very close to class 110F coil cars built for the P&LE by Despatch. I beleive that the Bessemer and Lake Erie tacked their coil cars onto the end of the P&LE order, as the graphics are identical, just the paint is orange. Are you printing these yourself, or do you have a preferred printer? The worst part of modeling these cars would be the decals which do not exist in N scale to my knowledge. Thanks.Jeff
The V-P Freight arrived with a record 39 cars behind M-630717, C-630M 701 and RS-3 574. The RS-3 will be set out for yard service at Chetwynd. This was actually the first session for 717 after a truck rebuild finally cured some serious running issues which have plagued this unit since build:Further back in the train were the mid-train remotes comprising Remote Control Car RCC 2, CN C-424 3218 and M-630 710. All of the cars behind the remotes were making their debut onto the layout:
The first test assembly of the F50 went together better than expected. The coupler pockets need some tweaking so the couplers operate smoother but I'd say everything was a success. (Attachment Link)
Are you planning on offering these cars for sale?
@PiperguyUMD I can think of at least one WM modeler that would part with a few hard earned dollars to have a copy of that bridge.Did you do that in Shapeways or any of the pay services? Or is that a home-brew that I'll have to hunt down?Looks phenomenominal!
Hi Andy:Looking good! Lots of hay fields in your area and mine. Let me know when you figure out the best way to do a hay field so I can copy .Tim
With it being a summer long weekend down here I went into a scenery rabbit hole and after lots of attempts came up with a very pleasing late summer hay field effect. This is for fields where hay has been cut into rows to dry but not yet baled. My reference photo was this example from Dawson Creek but you see this pattern on Google Earth images in late summer in many areas.
