I have various Proxxon tools and they are generally well built. I have the 110v IBS/E Plug in model. I'm sure their 12V would be fine too.
And when you have that, get their drill press frame and X/Y table and you can actually do some milling with it. The Z axis isn't so easy to control to the thousandths but the tables are quite accurate, the same ones that are on their MD-70 mill. This would be similar by style to Dremel's tool and drill press rig but the main difference is, this one actually works, and works quite well.
The drill stand is the MB-200 and the tables are the KT-70. Look over their site for other ideas of ways to spend your money.
