New Hope & Ivyland shelf layout (ex-Reading)

Took a break from track painting, and started on the first warehouse...  Made good progress on the trackside wall (.040 sheet) but ran out of .040 x .080 strip for the reinforcement ribs.

The loading doors are placeholders from my janky B/W printer, these will be replaced by color printed versions.

After a nice day of yard work, I took some craft paint and hit the ties with brown, burnt umber and gray (sidings); I may need to to tone down the gray patches a little before ballasting

I made a curbside pickup at the LHS, and finished up the shell of the printing warehouse; the roof is from a styrene "house for sale" sign.  Paint is next!

I sprayed the base concrete color (Tamiya Buff) on the walls, and grey primer on the roof.  I will need to hit this with some weathering pigments next:



The lighter versions of loading doors printed nicely, just need to cut and glue them on:

I really like the way the track work is coming out.  Did you spray the track then dry brush the ties?

The track is becoming even more of a thing of beauty!  The warehouse is pretty snazzy too

I'm not entirely pleased with the concrete color on the walls (too dark) but with some pigment weathering I'm calling this done:

I have a few small rural buildings on the workbench, but am also starting to plan my version of the CRC facility, shown here:



With only 3" of depth, I obviously need to compress big time.  I'm shooting for a slice of the concrete building on the left, and some arrangement
 of the vertical tank farm with the railcar unloading piping.

With wiring complete, I have been enjoying some switching ops, mostly to find any issues before I ballast.  The switch crew did find a tight flangeway that I had to repair, just need to touch up the paint:



After spotting some boxcars at the print warehouse, the crew also noticed crackzilla in the backdrop!  Ugh, need to patch that (and what's up with my iPhone failing to capture the blue color?):

Finished off the landscaping shop building (former feed mill).  I replaced the kit's terrible chimney with N Scale Arch brick sheet, added rain gutters, and weathered the roof with an oil wash.

Made some progress on the CRC plant this weekend; roof will be off-white, with piping and vent details yet to be added:



Corrugated styrene sheet is backordered at the LHS, so the cardboard is standing-in for the second building.  I'm not happy with the tanks, I think they're a little tall.  And yea, that old MDC tank needs some love, I have new 100 ton trucks and Gold Medal railings!

Here is an overview of the CRC facility; still rearranging the vertical tanks so I can start on piping and unloading hoses:



I detailed and weathered the exterior of the leftmost building (the tall section needs corrugated siding):



And finally modified a Cornerstone station I had on-hand to represent an unused freight house.  I reduced the roof overhang, added a brick foundation, and boarded up the windows; need to paint the steps and add electrical junction box:

These scenes are coming together nicely.

With respect to this:



I'm not seeing what the tall portion represents in the proto reference image.



Perhaps use a portion of this space for some horizontal tanks, as seen in the middle foreground of the reference image, as a way to break up the forest of vertical tanks? And maybe squeeze in a slice of wall that slopes down to the right, as seen in the reference image (upper middle right, tan color)? Kinda like this:



If none of this is not to your liking, just ignore.

@DKS, thanks so much for the constructive comments!  I got caught up trying to vary rooflines, when the proto facility is really all one height

I really like your mashup with the slanted roof structure, and I will get the small/horizontal tanks cut and placed.
