Carter:  Good news on the JTC, I'll be looking for a few.  I just got a 6-pack of their 40 ft chassis.  Too modern, paint-wise, for 1974, but they'll look fine after I paint over the conspicuity striping on the black ones. 

I have several of the old Interrail chassis, so don't need them for myself.  After all, neither MT nor Interrail containers seem to be available, so what I have is all I need the chassis for.  Other might be looking for a few, though, and not have the originals.

I do wish MT would run their 40 ft boxes in more shipping company schemes, or at least rerun the SeaLand and NOL ones.  Right now, as far as I know, they're the only early rubbed containers available.  But they seem to have given up on them.

The old DeLuxe Innovation (originally Interrail) chassis is a 40-ft straight frame chassis.  The tooling for it should be owned by Fox Valley Models now, but it may too worn out to use.  However, InterMountain still has the DeLuxe Innovation chassis in stock.  Just scroll down to "Containers" in this listing.    https://www.intermountain-railway.com/distrib/deluxeinnovations/deluxeinnovationsn.htm

I had a talk with Dave F from Deluxe years ago about this tooling. I was inquiring about the old Interail containers, and was told that all this tooling was actually cut in brass!. I doubt we will ever see any Interail tooling ever again.

As far as wishes go, some things not rolling stock related:

Atlas to fill out their C55 line.
Maybe a compeditor to Atlas C55 line with North American tie spacing.
A good C40 line.
A smarter, more user friendly DCC system.

Carter:  If I'd known about the undecs I probably would have bought them.  I don't have good pictures of the early 70s chassis, but I know they weren't anything fancy, lettering-wise.

I did, but its lacking the detail parts sprue. Not sure how many of the parts you have designed would carry over

I don't have any power needs personally at this time, but I long for Thrall 5150 and 5400 covered hoppers!!!! Please, someone make them, especially these two:

I wanted a Rock Island SW1500 in blue, but I couldn't wait for MTL forever, so I had a custom one made.

Need some of those Central Soya cars.  Many of those ended up at AgCom on the Hanover Sub

Dear Micro Trains:
For next Christmas how about a Pullman Solarium Car. This car was much more common in the 1940s and 1950s than open platform observation cars.  Thanks!

Autoracks, of any manufacture that are quality. Trying to build up a handful of autoracks for a small train is a very expensive proposition these days.

Hmm, that sound like you are not asking for quality but for affordability (less expensive autoracks)?
I'm not sure if you can have your cake (high quality) and eat it too (low price)?  Usually they are exclusive of each other.

There's a balance. Around $50 is a reasonable price IMO, but some of the asking prices on a certain auction site are a bit outrageous. I've seen some Red Caboose autoracks recently go for over $80 a car, which is a bit high.

The Kato autoracks are of decent quality, in my opinion, and MSRP on a 4 car set is only $95.
