Well, noticed Micro-Trains' November stuff is up too so I guess I'll start it this month...

I really hope MTL will do that BNSF (and BN) scheme on the Husky Stacks in Z-scale someday.

Question for me is to figure out whether to (a) buy single window coaches in whatever paint scheme, strip those and paint them, (b) wait for undec's and paint those, or (c) try to guess the release schedule for Erie and L&N.  Well...OK, I can guess that L&N won't happen in my lifetime, so I need to order blue paint in any case.

But after a decade of waiting, it is good to see the single window coach coming to market.

The single window coach finally comes out and it is in a 5-pack?  :-X  I only need one of those, in green Erie paint.

What I need several of is the long-pending paired window baggage/coach combine.  Preferably in B&O blue and gray.

If the past is any indication, the 5 packs are often announced well in advance, but we are likely to see some of the single window beginning to show up at about the same time in the various paint schemes they have been working on recently- off the top of my head, I would predict NYC and Southern as early contenders.

My own interest in combines has more to do with length than with paired vs single window.  By my timeframe, very few combines were running on the trains I am modeling, so I would only be in for one or 2 to use "as is".  But if they end up the right length, they might be a better "core" for the L&N modernized car sides (from Brass Car sides) which were built on combine frames- that is, coach length minus one vestibule.  The first one I am still working on is built on a cut down coach.

I like the late PRR coach!
The PC covered hopper may end up joining the fleet too because, well, it's got worms...

MTL is really good when it comes to supplying customers with spare parts. I have feeling that Joe can hook you up with a undecorated "kit" of single window coach parts so you can build your model.  Just contact him.
