Can't resist, the above post was made in October 2019. I never heard or rcv'd a note regarding the parts I requested.

However, today 3/3/2020 I rcv'd an email stating the order has been completed and is on its way.

Got to hand it to IM as I had totally given up.

IM gets a thumbs up from me. I bought a real nice Santa Fe SD45-2 in Bicentennial paint at a show. No box. Somewhere between the show and home, one of the eagle medallions was lost. I emailed IM and was sent back a message that spares were long gone. Lo and behold, about 2 months later, I got two of them in the mail. IM parts guy found a couple and remembered me.

I checked with a friend who went back to work there about a month ago.  The parts situation is the way it is because the factory that made those locomotives is either closed or just now returning to production (after a year and a half).  They really tried to satisfy their customers by making replacement parts available, but simply put, they are running out.   During their recent move, they might have found some of what you needed.  Extra parts are hard to get.  They might negotiate to get 100 extra wheelsets, and the factory might be willing to tack that onto a batch of complete products, if they are produced.   Virtually nothing had been produced for a year and a half.  So no parts.

I called IM several years back inquiring about some F unit parts.  They took my contact information and told me that they would let me know if they had any parts. Over a year or so later I got a box from them in the mail with the parts. They included a note asking me to call in and make a payment for the parts. Completely on the honor system.
