You know, I think that will really appeal more to the video game players than to the model railroaders. 

A person with a throttle like that could just watch a video screen showing a real or animated view of going down the track, and never have a small scale physical model.  Instead of laying track and building rolling stock and trackside structures and scenery, a person could just make their own animations of scenes that interest them. There is a guy over on the B&O forum doing just that, animating the journey of the Capitol Limited behind a particular steam locomotive on the route between Brunswick  and Harpers Ferry.  That is a lot of work, now, but could become easier in the future as more infrastructure for such animation is made available to the hobbyists.

But, that would really be a different world than the folksy model building and operating session guys here.  That type of "modeller" could just sit in a dark room and never seen anybody except for their images on their big screens when they put them there from Skype or video phone calls. 

Not my style!
