Does the next generation of progress have to have so much oil/grease leaking all over the fuel tank ?

Granted, GE does usually combust it, gloriously.   :D
I remember the earliest widely purchased GE units, the U25-B and U28-B's famously leaked oil, so much so that the engine compartments flooded, seeping through the gaps in the lower hood doors.

I'm surprised the horns aren't over the radiator fans. That seems like a good way to keep them warm in winter.

That was UP practice for several decades when everybody else was on the cab, specifically to fight the snow-clogging problem, just like hatch wings on E-units and snow-hood signals. With an apparently policy change - after my modeling period ('70s) - they started moving them to the cab, and with modern stuff they're left in the factory location, in the middle. There are likely reasons, but I don't know 'em.

EDIT: Of course, the great sage of all things UP, Don Strack, has the 411: https://utahrails.net/up/up-loco-features.php

The Great Northern normally positioned the horns on their EMD's above the radiators.

Next to the exhaust stack should be plenty warm.

I'm a little surprised at all the horn discussion. Hasn't that sort of placement been standard ever since spartan cabs went out of style?

I think the original comment was based on the single chime right at the rear of the long hood...

Gotcha.  Isn't it a double chime? I wonder if the horns are directional based on which way the engine is set to move.

I think you're right, we have single rear chimes on our gp20ecos, and all horns go off no matter what direction you are moving... They seem louder fwiw...

The more I look at these new EMD's the better I like them. Nice, clean lines.
