How To Get Decent Mitered Corners

I'm in the process of constructing some N-Scale buildings but I'll be damned if I can get a good straight mitered corner.  The XACTO miter box I have has too much slop in the slots so the saw wanders producing an uneven cut.  I tried building a couple of sanding jigs but they too were both disasters.  What do I have to do to get a decent mitered corner?

I'm using 0.020" thick styrene.  The wall height I'm working on  now is 3/4" actual height or 10 N-scale feet.

I've always just used an old fashioned large steel file to eyeball approximately a 45* angle when looking to do what you are.
With a wall as short as you are building, the file will likely make full constant cutting contact.

I,ve had excellent results with a 45° sanding jig, but if you can't get a good bevel, then I suggest you do butt joints and cover them with Angle (Plastruct #90001 or Evergreen #291).
