Ah. Damn. I wasn't sure of the timeline. I was hoping it was still out there somewhere.

;) it's supposed to be a load building challenge, not a challenge the load challenge.  How's about you experts build something we can all find jaw dropping for its creativity, execution and skill?  Yeesh!

Good evening all, its time to announce the other winner for the first Weekend Challenge!

A quick recap of the points of emphasis:

1. New builds.
2. Clever Engineering.
3. Educational/Exciting.

While there was only one entry that met all 3, there was another entry that sparked a very educational discussion of weight and capacity, making it a very close race and tough decision!

Congratulations @wm3798!

Your rebar load and the discussion of weight limits have earned you the judge's choice prize!

But that's not all!  @Dave V's effort to build magnetic coal loads, specifically for this challenge, has earned him an honorable mention!
Dave has also been doing some exceptional scenery and I bet he could use some CG N Scale wild life

Thank you to everyone who participated!  I'll see you at the next one!

Please take the time to congratulate our three winners, @wm3798, @dougnelson, and @Dave V, and if you have any suggestions in theme or format for the next challenge, feel free to let us know below!

Humbled and honored!  Now I have to fix the load so the guys down at N scale scale don't have a fit!

Great job to all, I think there were lots of good ideas. Not an easy choice by anyone. Looking forward to the next challenge!

@wm3798 happened to it. We just need Lee to tell us what he did with it. Did he really throw it away?

He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

I thought it was taffy.

So you put a uhh...dong shaped object that you knew came from Ed in your mouth?
And swallowed it?

I sat about 50 feet from a 1:1 scale, pretty banged up Gon sitting on one of the tracks a the end of one of the smaller yards in Los Angles; a little private place I go off Alameda st. where it's dimly lit and where you don't get chased away... It's a dirt lot at the edge of the throat but right off a side street.
Here there are 2 ground throws right in front of you..But I believe the dirt lot is not off limits to public as is one I did get hassled at and permanently banned from last week..(btw. the switches in front of you here have no guard rails ! That's always cool to find !)...
Time before last at this one, a cop stopped at edge of lot and merely asked me if I'm OK and also implied no photos...But I was cordial with him and likewise...I assured him I'm just a train nut and not up to anything...I told him I come here sometimes just to think..He smiled and rolled off.. He could see I'm not a tagger or metal thief or such..Also nice was, there was a silhouette of an imposing cold, unlit road-switcher down the tracks a ways...All you could see was the black shadow of it and moonlight coming through its windows...Anyway, the gondola was near me and the little yard office there was now tagged up to the hilt and everything else near it with black ugly graffiti....Wil this EVER cease to exist ?? !!
