It is close enough to our Gettysburg Fire Dept Truck 1 that I'll probably get one for that.  I showed it to a member of the FD and he said he'd like to see the truck that turntable and lift cylinders is based on.  Def a Seagrave cab but looks like a 3 section ladder, don't know of a 3 section rearmount in the age of the truck shown.

Yeah I think this is probably a Seagrave quint. The windshield appears to be more upright than E One or Pierce. The roll-up doors are pretty modern but the cab roof is flat. I hope they have alternate etched parts for the cabinet doors to model a swing-out style, but you could probably just flip the etched parts around to get that effect.

The cab looks to be separate from the body at the fender flares. I'm guessing they will have other cab options (open rear jump seat? Notched tall roof?).

One thing that bugs me about those beautifully rendered models is that on the one with the ladder extended, each segment seems to be extended way too far. Or can they extend that far on the 1:1 trucks?

No, my understanding is the top of webbing (which serves as hand rails) would be continuous with no breaks. I believe the pic above has them over-extended (locks/stops keep this from happening in reality).

My understanding is the overlap between sections also provides strength. The arrangement above seems like it would probably be very weak with a tremendous amount of stress where the sections join.

In checking out the photos of various Seagraves trucks, the cab appears to be from around 2006-07 to the present.  Not sure about the parts behind the cab. 

Edit:  Some photos of very similar trucks indicate they are 1990s vintage, but a lot of those are identified as refurbished.

The main difference being the size of the grill on the cab. This part looks etched so it might be easy to backdate the cab to a smaller grill and add the feeder line to the cab wall. I believe the basic cab structure dates back to 1991/1992.

The door steps have me a bit confused. I have seen photos with protected (covered by a larger door) and unprotected steps for all vintages. Maybe it was an option?

The body is a different story. Every fire department outfits their ladders to their preferences and there are few standardized designs. Roll up compartment doors started becoming commonplace in the mid 2000's. But you can backdate these by flipping the etched part to create a solid swing out door. Quints (ladders with built in pump units) really took off in the 1990's.

The ladder is WAY past extension on the deployed model. There should be a 5-10% overlap on the trusses. They also punted a bit on the ladder. With dual rear axles, this is a heavy quint. The ladder should be a 4 segment unit with 90-110 foot reach. A 3 segment ladder is almost always a 50-75' reach and almost always a single rear axle truck.

But I'm certainly not complaining. I'll buy several. These look fantastic.
