Ah, the Machine Shop is the smaller buildings with large windows around the top.
Wasn't the factory later sold by Con-Cor?

No, that was the Heljan clone of the original Pola kit. Pola's version was sold by Atlas, AHM, Model Power, and possibly others.

Clone, eh? Learning more and more of early N scale history everyday!  Very interesting.
I have been on your N scale history website, but haven't read through everything yet.  :)

What was the name of the junction on the sign for the Bachmann built-up signal tower based on the AHM HO model? And, for extra credit, was was the original building color?

I plead ignorance as I didn't get into (American) N scale until mid-80s.   :D Before that, I was into East German TT model trains.  I also had a chance to play with some early East German PIKO N scale models, but my layout was TT.

Back in one of the '60's MR's, they had a little feature about East German models and some were PIKO's.

The name of the junction on the sign(s) was 'Dennis Junction'.
The siding on the lower part of the tower was a shade of barn red while the windows and stairs were a sort of tan color.

I have photos of some of my PIKO N scale models here in the TRW gallery:
I acquired these while expanding my N scale collection in the States.

It was right on the edge of still being able to read the sign without having to using a magnifier.

Wiring completed--at least as far as getting the lines run to the terminal area. And so many: over 65 of them, comprising almost 40 circuits.

All the track joints are also soldered. (Never had a problem, don't expect any, but you never know...)

Lots of colors there... do you harvest wire from video cables?

All joiners soldered, and track painted. I'll hit those bright switch points with NeoLube after ballasting is done.
