For all of you, I took Mark up on the offer for some of the startup print rejects he had.  I had never been completely satisfied with the print quality of the Shapeways FUD but especially found the brittleness to be disappointing, a deal breaker for me.  That was why I was very keen on seeing how the material acted when handling it.  The print quality looked good enough in the photos and by all description, here and elsewhere.  The material characteristics when in hand was answered from the samples and so, within a few hours, I had one on the way. 

Now I've got some studying to do.  I'm not sure it will be all I would want but have no doubt it will be a very useful tool, adding capabilities that just weren't an option until now.

Mark does deserve some type of commission on these sales.  Thanks again, Mark.

 I took 5 envelopes and cut them so I have 10 sheets total. In the video, he says 200 degrees, so I tried it at 200 degrees (I'm guessing that was is in "Celsius") and it didn't work, so I turned the oven up to 375 degrees fahrenheit, and it worked and I now have 10 sheets ready. I laid a paper towel onto a baking sheet and laid the sheets on that for about 30 seconds. The laminating envelopes I have are also a thinner. The FEP that comes with the printer was was .013mm and the envelopes were .007mm, but they work.

I noticed Amazon has 500ml and 1L bottles of resin for $30 and $60 respectively, down from 40 and 80.  I re-stock up with 1L of grey and 500ml of skin color.

200 degrees celsius works out to 392 degrees fahrenheit ,  375 is close enough

 Last week, I found a 1L bottle of white for $49 shipped (ebay) and later in the week I ordered 500ml of gray, red and black for $35 @ shipped (ebay). Now I need to get some "skin". Yesterday, the guy here in KC that I bought the 500ml gray from also had a unbranded 500ml of white for $20 shipped and bought one of them to try.

 I have the 250ml that came with machine and then I added a liter of translucent yellow at that time, so I should have enough resin to print for awhile now.

Someone on FB said you can order the FEP from Grainger, but I didn't look to see if it was a good deal or not. My FEP looks fine after 250ml of resin.

Yes, I ordered from Ebay earlier for $19 something rather than 27 something with the idea that if I can't use it, she can.   She saw it and wanted one.  I may let her use it anyway.

How long do you expose the stuff?  Flip it?  Anything else from your vast experience?

I use the 30 min timer and usually flip the part and another 30 min. Some people use small motorized turntables while curing. I don't have one though.

Anothet FB tip that I did. Get those magnetic heater vent covers for like $5 and cover all the windows. This way I can just leave the resin in the vat.

 I just had the wife sew up a vinyl cover that slides over mine. I try to keep it on all the time except when I pulling parts off the build plate.
