This also goes along with Spookshow's shell swap thread.

A Minitrix shell on a Bachmann NW-2 chassis.
(I could have sworn I posted this on that thread - as I was asked about the hand rails -- both of those posts are now gone) Strange---

Thanks,
Wolf

Nice FM Wolf.

There could be a problem with Railwire, my normal bookmark hasn't worked for a couple of days, just thought it was me.  Hasn't been a lot of traffic since then either.
Cheers
Steve

Thanks @up1950s for starting this up so quick after the "Railwire Crash of 2018". It makes me feel better to see "business as usual".

That paper mill/logging RRs steam locomotives ended up at Clarks Trading post, which I posted photos of in last weeks WUD, and is also nearby.. #5 closest to the camera was the mill switcher, and the other 2 were used in the woods..

I finished the decals on my VIA FP9A today. The micro scale decals are very thin and while a good match to the yellow paint on the paper, once on the model they get quit a bit darker. @CNR5529 suggested laying another identical decal over top and boy what a difference! Looks exactly how I want it to now. Next up clear coat and a bunch of white grab irons.

After 20+ years in this hobby, I need to attempt weathering because 5001 and my freight cars look to clean for 1988!!

I have had a Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 since the first run, and was at one point going to make it a Pacific Coast Railway loco. The Pacific Electric would lease steamers all the time from their parent road, the Southern Pacific. The PE also owned a handful of 0-6-0's, and these were the only Pacific Electric lettered steam locos. I decided today that needed to be changed.

The real 2716 had a Vanderbilt tender.

I spent Friday and Saturday representing TRW and the N scale contingent at the Mid Atlantic RPM.  First time attending and first time displaying.  N scale displays were slim, though Saturday added an N scale steel mill module.

Hi everyone…

Modelling progress this week comprised solely of assembling, painting and installing the handrails for the Nelson diesel house maintenance platform walkways…including about 200 stanchions!

Next week I hope to g et to the first wall assembly so the model will begin looking like a diesel house!

Have a great weekend!

I did the same thing for a SP U-50 I did a custom paint job, except for the opposite reason: the red of the "wings" down the side of the cab was lighter than the red paint I did the nose with. Double decals matched perfectly. This double-application is a good solution for problems of too-light or too-dark mismatches between paint and decals. More people should know about it.

I got half on NYC 4201 decaled this week. After quite a few applications of Micro Sol I got the stripe decals to lay down nice and smooth.

It's an old Life Like, the early plastic frame version. Adding the extra details really brought the shell to life.
