Looks like it started with thomasjmdavis post. Some embedded tag or tags.

Why is everything in this thread getting reposted in italics?

BTW, I added an "end italics" tag to the beginning of my reply above :-)

Yeah, but the reply went to a new page without the original unclosed tag, so that's why it reset. ;)  I tried doing that in my disregard post and it didn't work.  :|
And I see @thomasjmdavis fixed the original post now too.

Sorry all.  I fixed it in my post (I think a mod had fixed it for posts after mine in any case).  Somehow turned "/i" into "/1"- and then found something that needed my attention for 6 hours....
Mea culpa.

That said, it never occurred to me that an html error in a comment would carry over to other comments after the one with the error.  I wonder if there is a way to plant "I want an ATSF 2-10-2" into everyone's signature line.

The Kato NW2 shell fits the Bachmann NW2.

What other shells fit the Kato NW2 mechanism?
Lifelike SW?
MTL SW1500?

The old Atlas/Kato poorly designed GP7/9 looks bad.  But..... the shell and walkway can be placed on a Atlas GP30/35 mechanism.   Since the shell is too long, it fits that new mech with only a little work.

Old Old Atlas Roco FA-1 shell fits pretty well on a Atlas RS3 mechanism.  RS-3 Fuel tank not exactly right, but looks OK.

ICG/IC fans can make a rare and great SD28 by simply taking an Atlas SD35 mechanism and placing an Atlas GP38 shell on it.   I had to file just a tiny amount of metal off the ends of the frame so the shell would not be too tight.  The foobiness of the final model is very minimal.  I almost wish I had not sold mine.

But otherwise is was a simple and easy shell swap for a pretty cool loco.

You know Mark, If you want to go really crazy you could try video taping all the sound equipped engines.

There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Great question!  I was wondering what else would fit the Bachmann NW2 chassis.  How about the Bachmann 70 tonner or Bachmann S4 shells?  I wonder if the Kato or Bachmann NW2 shells will fit on the Atlas MP15 chassis or the MTL SW1500 chassis?

That would indeed be crazy, but I think I'll stick with the printed (typed) word. There's only so many new tricks this old dog can learn (or has the time and inkling to learn, lol).

Trix FM on a Kato/Con-Cor SW1200 with minor modifications to the frame.
That would make it the worlds fastest FM H12-44!   That Kato chassis is a speed demon!

I'm putting the Trix FM shell on a Bachmann NW2.   Seems to fit OK, but needs some work for coupler mounting/pilots (since the original couplers were mounted to the NW2 shell).

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.
