There are two DVD's I purchased many years ago. One is:-  Easy Backdrop Painting Mountains and Valleys. Number two is:- Painting California Foothills and Forests. Both purchased from Pacific Video Distributors (Darryl Huffman) 12020 Old Seward Highway Anchorage Alaska 99515.

I have no idea if they are still available however I have watched them many times.
And nowhere as good as these guys.

I wasn't lucky enough find Mountains and Valleys, but I did find Rolling Hills on ebay for $6.00.  I will continue looking around.

Added some more trees and details to my back-drop. More trees to go on the left (when it gets warmer).
Made a wooden deck on which a kit-bashed depot will be added.
The water tank is almost finished just waiting to be able to get out of lock down to get some blacken it for the chain before it can be finished.

Bob Ross videos with his happy little trees.

I'm about half way through season one now.  I'm wondering how many of his techniques transfer over to acrylics.  I will have one large almighty easel called the backdrop!

I kit-bashed a new Cimarron Depot kit for my town of Montrose.
Cut some length from the back wall and the extended the front wall by attaching the longer length.
After painting the walls the roof sections were added along with modified rear roof portions.
Many hours of attaching glue on shingles and it is now ready to be placed onto the scratch built platform.

The depot is just sitting in place ready for the scenery to commence.
I also made my first batch of Aspens using Super tree armatures.

The Aspens look perfect, Fall is the season in the Rockies from my experinces.  Im really impressed with the halved depot. When I seen that the first thing that came to mind was - "Why didnt I ever think of that"

   For the Aspens I used very old fine ground foam A.M.S.I. given to me by a good friend.

  Added some colour to one area of my backdrops.

And stripped, painted, weathered and added lots of detail to a RO CO HOn30 Gas Mech that will be used in my tie treatment plant.

The backdrop with the the added Fall foilage looks to be from a postcard. Excellent work!

The crew on that little HOn30 locomotive better be careful around the exhaust otherwise it may crumble apart!

   Redid some scenery in an area I started many months ago.
Pulled out all the trees and redid the grass with various blends and length of static grass.
Once the area was dry I replanted the trees which I think looks a whole lot better.
Whilst at it I added some water to the area.

 Found out that the water tank at Tank Creek was not replaced by the tank car version until 1966. Well that stuffed up my plans as I had already kit bashed a tank car for the job.
 So I decided I needed to scratch build a water tank using what I had on hand.
Grabbed a small sample paint pot, wrapped some cardboard around it to use as a base then glued some 2"x 10" timbers to the cardboard.
 I was fortunate to have a Tichy Train Group water spout on hand so with a bit of tweaking, adjusting a scratch built base to fit the spot and applying left over shingles from kits I was able to complete the tank in not too much time at all.
Here it sitting waiting to be installed with additional scenery.
