I voted for the train most likely to get us an E7.

Which one is that?

20th Century . trying to crow bar Kato to play more in the east .

Not really fair to put everything else against a single east coast train.  We need a west coast primary.   :P

Curious that an earlier poll included the NYC Dreyfuss Hudson, which would go with the 1938/1940 version of the 20th Century Limited, whereas the 1950s version would imply E7/E8 diesels and the Creek series observation car.

I also voted for Dreyfus Hudson version a while back. I don't have a lot of interest in another diesel train.

Empire Builder.  I need the diner to make CSX's HEP car too.

Empire Builder.

And that's where the details come in.  An EB with E7s means pre-1955, before the dome cars.

A poll is nice and all.  But I'm stuck in the 70's so there's no motivation for me to vote.  I didn't see an area for write-in-candidates so my vote is up for sale.  Let the bidding begin.....

I also voted for Dreyfus Hudson version a while back. I don't have a lot of interest in another diesel train.

The current poll question asks about the "next" train- which might preclude a Dreyfus Hudson as the lead time for a new steam loco could be substantially longer than tooling up some new passenger car shells and perhaps an E7 shell.  Most of the other trains are comparable to a 50s 20th Century- they could use a lot of existing tooling. Given the relatively short time between releases (when we remember that they are doing whole trains, not individual cars), a new Hudson might not be possible for the "next" train, but does not mean its not on the radar.

Good evening all,

My vote went to the Texas Rocket.  TA and three cars.  I would still like a Peoria Rocket.  TA and four cars.  Happy to provide drawings to KATO.
OR how about the RI-SP Golden State.

Having said this I will now repeat my request for a KATO Wabash Blue Bird.  The E8 is done.  Three domes are done.  3 cars are all that's needed.  The baggage lounge 650.  Diner 51, and (dome shifted forward) observation  1601.  1601 is still alive and well in Duluth Georia.   It is missing a few pieces and the main floor interior is not entirely original.  Original drawings can still be found.

I fear Kato's previous Wabash set didn't do well.  Two domes,  foob CBQ diner/observation, foob baggage, and PA's.   1601 is also close to the Twin City Zephyr in that it is a dome forward observation, unlike the California Zephyr dome rear observations,  Should Kato ever do an E7 that would be OK for the Blue Bird and Golden State also.

A Kato E6 would be an excellent choice too.

Thank you, Good night,
Bobster

Went for the NCL, but hopefully if Kato does the Century we may see an E7.

I went with 20CL, and getting an E7 with it would be a big win for N.

I voted for the NCL.  I'd rather have the EB, but if I can get good dome cars, to replace the almost 50 year old ConCor cars, I can paint my own.  The two trains use the same domes, and NCL cars were used in the early Amtrak Northwest trains, so I can use the entire train.

I went for the 20CL but no interest for a (Kato) E7. We already have a NYC E7 and a 20CL should be pulled by a Hudson :).

THIS!
The Dreyfuss Hudson is the very essence of what makes the Twentieth Century so iconic....
Although not a collector, I'd buy a set with a Hudson. With E7's? Meh...
What's not on the menu is a UP Overland with a Northern in TTG. THAT would make me cheat on the poll by enlisting friends and neighbors :D
