TurboTrain - first test shots

Oh boy, these pictures are trouble for the wallet. I was thinking of staying away from the turbo in favor of more freight locomotive purchases, but it's going to be tough reining in my fingers.

Overall they look good, but I also see something on those shells, but I'm not going to say anything until I have my models in-hand (or until someone else mentions it).    I really have to wean myself of trying to compare these to ones from other manufacturers.  Bad Peter, bad!

The early shots of the Turbo Train look wonderful.  That's better, no?

The seams on the acess panel doors seem a bit 'wooden reefer'ish.. but maybe its the light.. or angle, or that will smooth out with paint.. looks great but that is what stands out to me..

Edit.. I went back to look at proto photos and the doors do stand out a bit when you look.. It would help to see the castings with a finished thickness of paint...

So are you comparing them to the Bachmann model?

Yes, it looks superb when compared to Bachmann. I hope that this doesn't make me look like a Bachmann-basher.

The factory sent a video of the Turbo in action. It's smooth - but the interior lights are so bright I think you can see it from the International Space Station.

I asked them to add some resistors before sending the samples and the response was "You do it. We already sent to Bill." Like he has time to solder resistors into PCBs the week before Springfield.

If you are at the Big E next weekend, just follow the unearthly glow to our booth.

I'll be at the show (both days with the Northeast NTRAK group).  I'll try to keep my critiques to a minimum.  I think that if Bill (is there and) sees me, he will run as fast as he can.

That square panel adjacent to the clamshell nose doors appears flush fitting on the US version:
