So that reminds me. I had a similar issue with a foggy lens. At least on the phone I had at the time you could replace them. That might be an option for you.

This pic is awesome. Just look at the dirt road to the left of the tracks in front of the downed tree. That is just fantastic looking.

Haven’t posted in awhile.....

A friend cleaned out his basement, gave me a box of his trains from his childhood, this house was in the box, thought I could work with it....




Turned it into this....

Got lucky with this one....

Used joint compound for a road. I find aged asphalt one of the toughest colors to get right- aged concrete being the other. I had a small bottle of alcohol & Rit dye that used for coloring rock castings and weathering freight cars. I have no idea what portions of each I used in the mix over a year ago. There was very little left, I wasn’t sure I had enough to do the entire road so I added more alcohol, didn’t give any thought to how much, just poured it in. I was about to add more dye but then thought it might get to dark, I should try it now and could always make it darker later.

I think I nailed it.

Detailed a  Bachmann RS3...grab irons, air hose, cables, a bell on the hood, air horn on the cab roof, sun-shades. Trucks are painted and weathered...Unit is ready for weathering, I’ve been waiting until I’m finished handling it....
