That view could change when he gets the water in.  Right now, there's no reflection off of the river, so the background stands out.

First Southern caboose substantially complete. It needs finishing touches.....yellow railings and steps, weathering and dullcote finish. Started with a Bachmann D&H caboose same as one on the left. It looks like the window infills are falling out in the photo, but they look much better in reality

The modeled water obviously doesn’t match the backdrop water......former is over a black base, latter is grey with white water. I will add woodland scenic water effects for some texture and whitewater, but it still won’t be a great match. Not a problem tho, when standing there I find myself looking at the train/bridge/foreground modeled water and the backdrop fades away out of line of sight, or looking through the truss at the backdrop and the modeled water fades away out of line of sight. Of course if a train is passing thru, I’m looking at it.....i think it will work.

The car weathering looks great, I really like your rail color as well. What’s up with the tree on the left side of the boxcar? Looks like it is wrapped with a string/wire. Seems you camouflaged the other trunks a bit better?

I use floral tape to make the trees.....they don't look perfect, but they look just fine as part of the overall scene.

A point about the rocks in the creek -- they are all sharp-edged whereas in a real year-round stream the water has rounded all the rock edges -- at least those in the stream flow. In this case that rounded gravel people use for yard cover would most likely look better. Not that you can rip those rocks out, but as a suggestion for anyone planning to model a scene like this.
Obviously rocks that tumbled into the creek from a recent landslide would still be sharp-edged.

I model very late winter / very early spring. it's melting season, rivers and streams starting to run. these rocks were carried downstream last Tuesday.

Don't see any boulders upstream that would explain them being just under the bridge. Would be more believable if they were used as riprap under the bridge against the bridge footings.
