I only have 24 gusset plates left to add to the MLH. I fit some BLMA 100 ton trucks under it. This gives it a nice ride height. I'll add more details tomorrow. I also ground down the left bolster after this photo. It looked to high to me.

PTC comes to the Sub!  Been working on this through the summer, finally got it installed.

Here's the gear at CP Canyon:

And a similar setup at CP Bridge:

Caliente is a bit different - a larger tower was needed for communications, and you'll note satellite communication as well:

While working at Caliente I added a communication shack for replacement train crews and spruced up the area a bit:

More next week.

Jim, the details really add to the scenes...a lot!

Cheerio!

No fancy modeling, but organization progress. When we moved south I packed all the trains into small boxes I could put into sturdy plastic totes. Now that I'm unpacking and building I need a different approach enter our IT folks, who recently trashed a bunch of these:

Funny how they look like good storage boxes.

You can get two layers of jewel cases in each box if you separate them with cardboard. I have one for locos and cables, one for boxcars and reefers, one for flatcars and well card and one for tank cars. I have more sequestered in the office so I should be good. I want to do printed labels by car type when I'm done.

I spent last weekend on President Eisenhower's farm in Gettysburg for the WWII Weekend.
It was the public debut of my Squadron Clerk impression, so I had my field desk, BD-72 switchboard, plotting table, etc. set up in the Operations tent along with a bunch of radio equipment belonging to another guy in my unit.
Still have a long way to go until my impression is seriously up to snuff, but as of now the only stuff I really still need to track down is a bunch of period-correct office supplies. The cherry on top will be if I find a correct WWII mimeograph machine, and/or all the components for a full AN/TIQ-3 public address system.
