Very sexy Peteski!  :D

I'm with you on the umbilical cord.  Eventually they will break from the flexing no matter how careful you are.  And they already break at the wrong time!

Thanks guys!

If you like to see more photos of the wire-free (chassis-to-shell)  install I mentioned here earlier see this thread.  And another such install in a steam loco is in this thread.

Thanks Mike!  Working on locos is my favorite part of the hobby, and the reason I don't own my own layout - I spent my hobby time working on locos.  :)

Thanks again guys!  I didn't mean to hijack Rick's thread - just wanted to show couple examples of wire-free installs.

A brief reply to the wireless connection. Some very niece work done here. I just can't justify the time to do this when 2 wires with some slack will get the job done. Any one who has install a sound decoder into an N scale locomotive knows space is at a real premium.

So I will use to wires, has for servicing- I have enough slack to remove the shell, if I need more I just unsolder the wires.
By the sounds of some people they are into the locomotives far more than I.
I have installs that are 5 years in the running and never has to re move the shell.
